My kids are morning folks.
I blame my husband.
They move faster than my brain can even comprehend, even with coffee.
By 7:30, we had read two or three Berenstain Bear books (I may have abbreviated the books. Those are long!), played several memory matching games, they had built some towers with said matching game blocks, and raced shopping carts around our den. There was more, but that's all I can recall.
Also, you know how people say something like, "I just left the room for like 2 minutes" and then tell you of some disaster that you think had to take much longer than 2 minutes?
Well, it's not a disaster, but it definitely happened in less than 2 minutes! Seriously. Maybe even less than 1 minute.
*Kaiya has an affinity for cleaning stuff with wipes and caring for boo-boos. She also likes to check the diaper status of her baby sister. She likes to "help" Mommy take care of baby. Mollie is unusually cooperative and doesn't protest; because of this, she doesn't often alert me to any "care" from Kaiya.
Well, I knew Mollie had a present in her diaper for me but I was giving her a little time to finish her transaction. I heard Kaiya say something about poop and I looked over. In the time it took me to get a glass of water and drink some of it, Kaiya had stripped Mollie of her footed snapped pjs (no easy task, for sure) and had taken her diaper off to reveal Mollie's present. That's some quick action for a 2 year old.
Fortunately, the mess was contained. I asked little Mama, Kaiya, to go get me some wipes for Mollie. She came back with the Chlrox wipes I use to clean the toddler potty. I sent her back to the bathroom to bring me baby wipes.
She was taking a long time, so I sent Dax to get me baby wipes because, like I said, I had a naked poopy baby in need of assistance. I was holding baby in place to contain the mess. I knew that whatever Kaiya was doing was probably not favorable for me, but I needed to take care of issue #1 first-the poopy, naked baby. After I got Mollie taken care of, I went to check on Kaiya. She apparently had used the toddler potty, dumped its contents into the toilet, and wiped it with the chlorox wipes. And was busy wiping the floor. Because what toddler can neatly dump a potty's contents into a toilet?
I need a nap.
Apparently, so do they. This is what they are playing now.
*(Yes, I stopped using the pen names for the kids. That's also too much effort for something before 8am.)
